The Savannah Ghost Pirates have announced their season-ending roster of 20 players, the most that is allowed on the season-ending roster by the ECHL. Each team is allowed to protect a maximum of 20 players and reserve the rights to eight players; no more than four can be veterans. The ECHL considers any player with 260 professional hockey games played prior to the 2024-25 season a veteran. The list does not include players on NHL or AHL contracts. Savannah will now look ahead to a new era as they recently signed a multi-year affiliation extension to become the ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers after spending their first two seasons as part of the Vegas Golden Knights organization.

Thoughts/Surprises as the Ghost Pirates Prepare The Ship For the 2024-25 Season
The Savannah Ghost Pirates have the making of an up-and-coming roster and this is before they get some help from the Charlotte Checkers. There’s no question that goaltending was a topic of discussion with six different goaltenders seeing time between the pipes but Savannah’s top goaltender Micheal Bullion who went 15-10-2-1 with a 2.77 GAA, .908SV%, and four shutouts. When it comes to the forwards the Ghost Pirates had Logan Drevitch on their season-ending roster. Drevitch finished the year with 19 goals and 34 assists for 52 points in 69 games last season, Brent Pederson finished the year on the Ghost Pirates after finishing third in the Ghost Pirates in points putting up 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 65 games during the 2023-24 season was also on Savannah’s season ending roster.
On the blueline, the Ghost Pirates do have Brandon Estes on their season ending roster despite him taking the overseas route, the Texas Native led defenseman with seven goals and 25 assists for 32 points in 65 games. Carter Long is another notable name that made Savannah’s season ending roster as he had six goals and 19 assists for 26 points in 69 games.
