The Savannah Ghost Pirates have had a quiet offseason, with the only big announcements being Coach Jared Staal’s joining, the change of affiliation to the Florida Panthers, assistant coach Nick Tuzzolino’s leaving, and Brendan Kotyk’s joining, and then the four awards they won. But we have yet to hear about players staying, only going. Well, we finally have some noise coming out of the graveyard.
Savannah announced Thursday that Logan Drevitch is the first signing of the 2024-2025 season. This will be Logan’s third season with the Pirates. Last season, he was a key player with the team, and the year before, he quickly became a fan favorite for his tenacity, quickness to defend, and perseverance.
“It was very important for our organization to bring Logan back,” Ghost Pirates Head Coach Jared Staal said. “He’s been someone who has been a leader for this team the past two seasons; we’re looking forward to seeing where year three takes him.”

Logan’s stats have given him excellent positioning with the Ghost Pirates. He closed the season with 69 out of 72 games, 19 goals, and 33 assists. In the 22-23 season, he also saw 69 games but only had 13 goals and 24 assists. At 5’9, he is the short king of the team, but in no way does that hinder him. It makes him faster and harder to hit. Before Savannah, Logan played at Merrimack College for four years, his last year wearing the A. During his college career, he played 113 games with 19 goals and 30 assists.
This is huge for Savannah. They are already losing players in AHL deals with the Vegas Golden Knights. Meanwhile, they will gain ones who were with the Panthers; it just takes time. Logan’s signing hopefully signals that the Ghost Pirates will be signing more players in the next few weeks while Development camps for many NHL teams wind down.
