This week, the Savannah Ghost Pirates announced that they have signed Darian Skeoch going into their second season. Skeoch was one of the two Alternate Captains for the inaugural season team, along with Spencer Naas. He had signed an AHL contract with the Henderson Silver Knights last July and was assigned to Savannah in October. Skeoch started and ended last season with the Savannah Ghost Pirates, and in his time with the team, he racked up two goals and six assists in his 35 games played. He took a total of 14 shots all season.
Even though Skeoch missed some games due to injuries, he still managed to lead the first-year team by a longshot with his 110 penalty minutes, making him average 3.14 PIMs per game. The 6 ‘4″ Ontario native has played for both the Indy Fuel and the Allen Americans in the ECHL before his time in the Lowcountry. He also played for the Vancouver Giants during his time in the WHL.
In his 2021-22 season with the Allen Americans, he racked up his most penalty minutes in a single season with 135 PIMs in 52 games. In the 2014-15 season with the Calgary Mustangs, he had 118 penalty minutes in 56 games.
While Skeoch had picked a lot of fights and finished even more, he has been a great defensive addition to the Ghost Pirates, and he will continue to be one this season. He definitely helped many fans fall in love with the team. He will continue to do so without a doubt this season as well. This enforcer has the Lowcountry excited for a great second season.
