ECHL: Savannah Ghost Pirates: Team Captains Announced

On October 18th, 2024, Savannah Ghost Pirates announced their leadership team for the 2024-2025 season.

Logan Drevitch was named Captain. In the 2023-2024 season, Drevitch led the Ghost Pirates in points with 19 goals and 33 assists in the course of 69 games. Hailing from Middleboro, MA, Drevitch is Savannah’s leader with assists at 57 and second in points with 89.

“I didn’t know Logan as a player or a person before I got here, but I did my research. He’s been nothing but great. He’s worked every single day and has been a voice in the locker room, as well. Logan exemplifies everything I like in a captain. When things get hard, he’s going to work harder. He’s a great fit and I’m happy to name him our captain.”

“It’s a huge honor to represent the Ghost Pirates. Having the change in any level of pro hockey to be a leader and wear a letter on your jersey is really special. It means a lot. We have a lot of leaders in that room to lean back on. I think it’s going to be a really good year.”

Will Riedell was named Alternate Captain. Riedell spent 32 games with Rapid City Rush in the 2023-2024 season and posted seven goals with 10 assists. He dressed in 16 games for the AHL Calgary Wranglers and posted one goal with four assists. Riedell dressed in 15 games for the Ghost Pirates in the 2022-2023 season and totaled four assists. Prior to turning professional, Riedell wore the “A” at Lake Superior State University. In the 2021-2022 season, He was chosen to be captain of Ohio State University where he played in 33 games and posted three goals with seven assists.

“It’s exciting. It’s my first time wearing a letter at the pro level, but I’m proud to help lead these guys, especially here in Savannah where I started a few years ago.’

  • Riedell on being named Assistant Captain- Per Savannah Ghost Pirates

Zach Uens has been named the second Assistant Captain. Uens spent the last two season with the Florida Everblades and the AHL Charlotte Checkers. Uens has dressed in 27 AHL games for the Charlotte Checkers and posted one goal with three assists in those games. He has dressed in 96 games for the Florida Everblades posting six goals and 18 assists during regular season play. Uens dressed for 44 post-season games for the Everblades and was apart of 2 Kelly Cup Championship runs for the Everblades. In the 44 post-season games, Uens posted one goal and five assists.

“We had older teams in Florida both years that we won, so I was able to learn from those guys. We have a young team here, so it’ll be fun to help the guys get to that next level and develop”

Savannah Ghost Pirates open the season tonight, October 18th at 7:05 pm at the Enmarket Arena with a sell-out crowd.
