This past weekend, the Savannah Ghost Pirates held two games at home, one being their teddy bear toss game on Sunday. Both games were filled with action and intensity. The Ghost Pirates faced off against the Atlanta Gladiators and the Orlando Solar Bears.

Friday, 12/06/2024 vs Atlanta Gladiators

In the opening frame, Denis Cesana opened up scoring and scored the lone goal of the first period at 1:29 when he took a shot from the right face-off circle. Evan Nause and Liam Walsh earned the helpers on Cesana’s goal.

The middle frame was the Savannah Show, with four goals scored alone by the Ghost Pirates. 38 seconds into the frame Kelti Jeri-Leon scores off of the low corner of the right face off circle. Jeri-Leon was assisted by Will Riedell and Nathan Staios. Less than a minute later at 1:10, Evan Nause nets his first professional career goal off of the helper of Brandon Saigeon and Logan Drevitch. At 9:34, Riley Bezeau, who was sent down from AHL Charlotte Checkers, nets his second goal of the season off of the pass from Reece Vitelli and Riedell on a powerplay. The powerplay was off of an Atlanta penalty from Joey Cipollone for tripping at 8:04. Jeri-Leon comes in again at 11:45 and nets one into the Atlanta net. He was assisted by Nicholas Zabaneh and Cesana on a powerplay. This powerplay was from Atlanta’s Ryan Crawford for slashing.

The final frame opened much like the first two did, but this one continued on a powerplay from a roughing minor taken by Atlanta’s Jackson Pierson. Josh Davies scores his fourth goal of the season at 9:21 with the assist from Devon Paliani and Riedell. At 13:30, Easton Armstrong scores the lone goal of the night for Atlanta off of the assist of Cipollone and Derek Topatigh. Less than 30 seconds later at 13:51, Savannah answered back when Cesana scored his second goal of the night. He was assisted by Paliani and Nause. This goal put Cesana at league leading defenseman for goals scored. Cesana is also tied with Fort Wayne Komets Kyle Mayhew, Idaho Steelheads Matt Register, and South Carolina Stingrays Blake Thompson in points for defenseman.
