
The Norfolk Admirals have announced that they’ve re-signed center Sean Montgomery for the 2025-26 season. In his first full season with the Admirals, Montgomery put up 14 goals and nine assists for 23 points in 67 games. Montgomery was a key player on the Admirals’ PK that finished 10th in the ECHL last season (82%). He was also a key piece in the face-off circle as he led Norfolk in face-off wins last season (443). He would add two goals and an assist for three points in 10 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Montgomery becomes the fourth forward and sixth player to sign with the Admirals for the 2025-26 season.
The 27-year-old began his career overseas in Belgium, where he played with the Liege Bulldogs. In 21 games with the Bulldogs, he put up 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points. The Anchorage, Alaska, native would then head to North America to join the Admirals. In 26 games during the 2023-24 season, Montgomery would put up six goals and three assists for nine points. He would also play in eight games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
“Sean has solidified our third-line center position and first penalty kill group for the last two years,” said Jeff Carr, Admirals General Manager & Head Coach. “He is the unsung glue-player of our forward group. He will be asked to do more and be utilized on the power play and situations that showcase his elite shot.”

Prior to going pro, Sean Montgomery spent time in the WHL and USports. In five years in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, he would put up 72 goals and 72 assists for 144 points in 345 games. In 2019, the Raiders would capture a WHL title as Montgomery had a career year with 29 goals and 30 assists for 59 points in 67 games. He would add another eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 23 games during the WHL Playoffs and added a goal in three games during the Memorial Cup. Montgomery then played three years at the University of Western Ontario. He put up 28 goals and 14 assists for 42 points in 65 games with the Mustangs. He would add six goals and an assist for seven points in 10 career USports Playoff games.
