The Maine Mariners have announced that they have re-signed forward Sebastian Vidmar for the 2024-25 season. Vidmar played in 50 games last season with the Savannah Ghost Pirates before being traded to the Mariners. He would finish the year with 11 goals and 20 assists for 32 points in 62 games as his season was cut short due to an upper-body injury. This is a solid signing for the Mariners, as they needed a goal scorer, and that’s exactly what Vidmar will bring to Maine next season. I expect him to be a top-six forward next year for the Mariners.
“I loved the setup, I loved the staff,” said Vidmar about his time in Maine last season. “My injury at the end of the year came at the worst time but I definitely saw a lot of potential and I’m very excited to come back and have a fresh start.”

The Swedish forward has played in 210 career ECHL games, putting up 55 goals and 78 assists for 133 points in 210 games with the Norfolk Admirals, Adirondack Thunder, Savannah Ghost Pirates, and Maine Mariners. He had four goals in five games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Prior to going pro, Vidmar played four years at Union College, where he put up 40 goals and 63 assists for 103 points in 137 NCAA games. He also played 41 games in Sweden, where he put up 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points during the 2020-21 season and 2021-22 season.
