Players to Watch

The player to watch for the Allen Americans is forward Brayden Watts. Watts is currently tied for third in the league in power play points, with four power play goals and 13 power play assists for a total of 17 power play points. Watts is also currently hot on the road, as he comes in on an eight-game road point streak where he has scored five goals and eight assists for 13 points during that time. In 36 games played this season, Watts has 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points, with 18 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -16.

The player to watch for the Rapid City Rush is Jackson Leppard. Leppard was acquired by the Rush in early January but has been serving a suspension. He will be able to return this weekend against the Allen Americans. Leppard played for the Americans in the 2021-23 seasons, playing in a total of 101 games where he had 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points, with 120 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -17. Before joining the Rush, Leppard played in 23 games with the Bloomington Bison, where he had one goal and two assists, with 31 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -5. Playing against his former team could cause Leppard to have a little extra fire in his game this weekend.

The Rush and Americans will start their series on Friday, January 24, and then wrap it up on Saturday, January 25. Puck drop will be at 7:05 PM MT both nights.
