ECHL: Shane Harper Is Back With The Adirondack Thunder

The Wait is over, and Shane Harper has made his decision as he will be coming back to the Adirondack Thunder for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Harper, 34, had spent the last two seasons with the Thunder, putting up 44 goals and 83 assists for 127 points in 113 games, and at the end of last season, everyone was left wondering if we had seen the last of Shane Harper’s playing career when the Thunder were eliminated in five games by the Newfoundland Growlers in the opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Harper will be entering his 5th season in the ECHL as he’s spent time with the Greenville Road Warriors, Trenton Titans, and now the Adirondack Thunder, where he has put up 80 goals and 119 points for 199 points in 176 ECHL games.

For Adirondack, this is a huge addition to the team as Harper is a fan-favorite in the community and can help fill some of the leadership left by Yanick Turcotte’s departure overseas. The California native also gives Adirondack an offensive boost, as he put up 22 goals last season in 65 games last season. Harper is expected to make his season debut on Friday Night as the Thunder take on the Norfolk Admirals and will play on Sunday afternoon vs. Trois-Rivieres Lions; he will likely get the night off on Saturday when the team travels to Maine.
