ECHL: Sloan Stanick Named Rookie of The Month | December 2024

The ECHL has named Tahoe Knight Monsters forward Sloan Stanick as the ECHL Rookie of the Month for December 2024. In 13 games during December, Stanick had eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points, including his first career hat-trick on December 15th vs Utah Grizzlies and his second four-point game of the season on December 21st, also against the Grizzlies.

The 21-year-old forward has had an impressive rookie with the Knight Monsters, as he’s put up 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 27 games. He currently leads Tahoe in assists (22) and points (36). He currently leads all ECHL rookies in multiple categories, including points (36), goals (14), power-play assists (8), power-play points (10), and shots (95). The 6’1, 187 forward has at least one point in 20 of the 27 games he’s played this year with the Knight Monsters. Stanick, who is on an AHL Deal with the Henderson Silver Knights, has seen two games this season at the AHL level but has yet to find the scoresheet.

Prior to going pro, the Rapid City, Manitoba native spent parts of five seasons in the WHL as he spent time with the Regina Pats and Prince Albert Raiders. In 274 games in the Western Hockey League, Stanick put up 86 goals and 121 assists for 207 points. He would lead the Raiders in goals and points in each of his two seasons with the team. Stanick would also be named to the WHL (East) Second All-Star Team in 2024.
