ECHL: Sloan Stanick Wins Rookie of the Year

The ECHL has named Tahoe Knight Monsters forward Sloan Stanick has won the John A. Daley Trophy as the 2025 ECHL Rookie of the Year. Sloan was previously named to the All-ECHL Second Team and All-Rookie Team. Chas Sharpe, Kyler Kupka, Matty De St. Phalle, and Spencer Kersten were all named finalists.

In 70 games this season, the Rapid City, Manitoba native put up 29 goals and 50 assists for 79 points. He was for second in the league in points (79). Stanick led the Knight Monsters in assists (50) and points (79). The Knight Monsters had four players with 20+ goals this season. Sloan and Simon Pinard have combined for 62 goals this season. Both Players were on the Knight Monsters top line. He also saw two games with the Henderson Silver Knights at the AHL level. Stanick,21, led all rookies in goals (29), assists (50), shots (249), and was tied for first with Wichita’s Jamie Bucheler in assists (14).

Prior to going pro, Sloan Stanick spent parts of five seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Prince Albert Raiders. In 274 WHL games, he would put up 86 goals and 121 assists for 207 points in 274 games. He would add two goals and five assists for seven points in 10 career WHL Playoff Games. Stanick would be named to the WHL (East) Second All-Star Team in 2024. He would lead Prince Albert in goals during his last two seasons in Prince Albert.
