Another familiar face will be returning to the low country this upcoming season, as the South Carolina Stingrays have agreed to terms with defenseman Connor Hall.
Hall suited up for 14 games for South Carolina last season, including all six playoff matches, and registered four points for the team in the regular season. He scored his first professional goal during his rookie debut against Cincinnati, where the Stingrays would stomp the Cyclones 11-0.
Before going pro and joining the Stingrays in March, the 6’2″ Cambridge native was at the University of New Brunswick, where he assisted in winning their ninth national championship. During his four years, he dressed for 64 games and tallied 22 points.
Prior to his time with the Reds, he spent time in the OHL Kirchner Rangers. In 2016, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hall was linemates with more seasoned and offensive defensemen, such as Matt Anderson, Michael Kim, or even Benton Maass, so it will be interesting to see his role this season. He is the third defenseman to sign with the team but only the second to return to the team for last season’s roster.
