The South Carolina Stingrays have announced that they have signed goaltender Seth Eisele to a contract for the 2024-25 season. Eisele, who just finished his last year of NCAA eligibility, played his first three years at Lake Superior State University, where he put up a 14-16 record with a 2.74 GAA and .912SV%. He would spend his final year of eligibility at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he went 4-1-1 with a 2.37 GAA. and .937SV% in eight appearances.
Heading into the 2024-25 season, Eisele will likely be the third goaltender for the Rays behind Garin Bjorklund and Mitchell Cooper. Despite being the third goaltender, I would still expect Eisele to see a handful of starts with the amount of three in threes ECHL teams and with call-ups with the other two goalies between Hershey and South Carolina.
“As a rookie coming into the ECHL, I wanted to go somewhere where there’s a good opportunity,” said Eisele. “After talking to a few teams, I thought South Carolina was a perfect fit. I’m excited about the upcoming season and can’t wait to get going.”
