ECHL: South Carolina Stingrays Transactions | 02/29/2024

The South Carolina Stingrays will have their leading scorer back as Austin Magera was sent back down to the Rays after being released from his PTO with the Syracuse Crunch. Magera joined the Stingrays at the end of last season after his collegiate career at Sacred Heart University. In four years with the Pioneers, he put up 47 goals and 69 assists for 116 points in 154 games. Magera is currently leading the Rays offensively this season with 21 goals and 33 assists for 54 points in 52 games. The Georgia native had eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 16 games last season.

South Carolina also announced that they have signed Ethan Strang, who just finished his collegiate career at Grant MacEwan University, where he played two years playing in 52 games, putting up 21 and 21 assists for 42 points. He previously spent five seasons in the AJHL, totaling up 63 goals and 47 for 110 points in 177 as he spent time with the Bonnyville Pontiacs and Grande Prairie Storm. Strang was placed on reserve once he signed with the team.
