Greenville, SC—A week after winning back-to-back games on the road vs Florida Everblades, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits returned to home base to face their division foes, the South Carolina Stingrays, in a one-game matchup on Friday, February 2. This weekend will be a big one for the Rabbits’ as they will face three division rivals in a span of three days. A look at both teams’ stats: the Swamp Rabbits are now 30-11-1-0 in 42 games played; they’ve broken a Greenville hockey record of 30 wins in the shortest amount of games played; so far, their win chance remains strong at 71%. As it stands, their PP is at a 22% success, as they’ve scored 30 goals out of 135 PP opportunities. Their PK still remains strong with an 81.3% kill percentage, as they’ve killed 104 out of 128 penalties. Meanwhile, the Stingrays are no different in those aspects: they have a 22% PP success and an 83% PK; they’ve scored 27 goals on the PP and killed the same amount on the PK of 104 out of 125 penalties taken. But SC’s record speaks for itself, as currently they stand 24-14-2-0 after playing 40 games with a 60% win percentage and are 3rd in the South division.

Point Leaders

Carter Souch still leads his team in points, goals, and assists. After playing 42 games, he’s tallied up 15 goals and 22 assists. In his last five games, Souchs scored a goal and added three apples. Brannon McManus is second in points with 28, seven goals, and 21 assists. Don’t let his low goal record fool you, though, as last weekend in Florida for game one, McManus would not only tie things up at the last second, but he would also score the game-winning goal in a shoot-out. The All-Star Ryan Bednard currently has 14 wins of 23 games, with a 2.85 GAA and a 0.916 save percentage. As of late, he’s been red-hot, making key saves after key saves; he made 34 saves on 37 shots in his recent game on January 26 in Florida. Luke Richardson, however, stands higher than Bednard with a 2.16 GAA and 0.934 SV%, winning five of his last nine games played; in his latest game played on January 27 in Florida, Richardson would stop all 37 shots and therefore received his first ECHL shutout. For SC, Austin Magera leads his team in points with 40 from 17 goals and 23 assists after playing 41 games. Josh Wilkins is second with 37 points from 20 goals and 17 assists from 37 games played. Jack Adams leads the team in assists with 26, while he has 11 goals scored. Defenseman Connor Moore has five goals and 21 assists from 41 games played. Goalie Mitchell Gibson has won 12 of his last 20 games played with a 2.52 GAA.
