ECHL: Swamp Rabbits Sign Defenseman Max Coyle to the 2023-24 Season

Greenville, SC—With ECHL training camps approaching in the coming days, the Swamp Rabbits are still building up their roster, as today they’ve announced they signed LA Kings rookie Max Coyle. Coyle, 25, was recently invited to play in the LA Kings Rookie Faceoff. He recently turned professional, as he played three games for the Indy Fuel (ECHL) during the 22-23 season. Before going into the ECHL, Coyle played four seasons for NCAA teams. Recently, during the 22-23 season, he played 34 games with Bowling Green State University and tallied up three goals and eight assists. A Tillsonburg, Ontario native, Coyle has seen a lot of action in pro hockey as he began his first collegiate season in 2019-20 with University of Alabama-Huntsville, where he played 34 games and logged in only four assists. The following season, 2020-21, he would play 23 games of his first season with Bowling Green State as he put up an assist to his record. In his second and full season with BGSU, Coyle played 36 games, tallying up five points (a goal and four assists). Coyle has had a solid hockey career, and only now will he get a shot at a full season in the ECHL; his collegiate record suggests he’s a solid defenseman who has significant potential in the professional leagues.

The Swamp Rabbits are set to begin training camp on Thursday, October 5; with the first game being scheduled for Sunday, October 15 (preseason game), and regular season puck drop is on October 21 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Greenville, South Carolina.
