Three Things to Watch:

Brett Kemp

Kemp has continued his hot start that he displayed in the preseason game against Atlanta. In the first and only game of the season. Kemp came away from the game leading the team in points with three. Totaling one goal and two assists. Kemp and his line-mates Jake Smith and Carter Souch are showing a next-level type of chemistry, which is extremely impressive due to Jake Smith being a new addition to the team this year. Look to see if Kemp can continue his fast start going into game two.

Wyatte Wylie

Wylie is a new addition to the team after being reassigned to Greenville only a day ago. Wylie is a 23-year-old defenseman standing six feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. Wylie was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2018 in the fifth round of the draft. After coming out of the WHL with the Everett Silvertips, Wylie has spent the last three years in the American Hockey League playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In the three years there, Wylie put up nine goals and 26 assists. It’s also worth mentioning Wylie led all WHL defensemen in assists with 50 during the 2019-2020 season. It is unknown at this time if Wylie will play tonight. But look for him to be a facilitator controlling the puck in the offensive zone and assisting in moving the puck up the ice.

Finish the Opportunities

The score against the Norfolk Admirals ended 3-2. However, I think there was a chance where Greenville could have doubled their scoring output. There were multiple opportunities where the Swamp Rabbits had the chance to score and couldn’t find the back of the net. Some of those chances were unlucky bounces. But the scoring ability of this team has the potential to be at a minimum four goal a game type of team. Look to see how the Swamp Rabbits come out tonight after having six days off. Are they as fast as they appeared in game one of the season, or do they come out slower?
