ECHL: Tahoe Knight Monsters Add Rookie Blueliner

The Tahoe Knight Monsters have announced that they’ve signed rookie defenseman Cody Laskosky for the 2025-26 season. Laskosky, 26, spent last season at the University of Wisconsin, where he put up seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 27 games with the Badgers. With the signing of Laskosky, the Knight Monsters now have six defenseman signed for the 2025-26 season. It will be intresting to see how many more defenseman Tahoe adds before the start of training camp.

The Camrose, Alberta, native began his career in the AJHL where he spent time with four different teams. In 216 games in the AJHL, he would put 85 goals and 111 assists for 216 points. During his last year in the AJHL, he would lead the Camrose Kodiaks in goals and points. He put up 40 goals and 46 assists for 86 points in 56 games. He would add 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 34 AJHL playoff games.

Prior to going the University of Wisconsin, Cody Laskosky spent four years at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). In 124 with the Tigers, he put up 32 goals and 52 assists for 84 points in 124 games. During his time at RIT, the Tigers won back to back AHA Regular-Season Championships in 2023 and 2024, as well as winning the AHA Championship in 2024. Laskosky would be named the AHA best defensive forward in 2023 and would be named to the AHA First All-Star Team in 2024. In his last season with the Tigers, he led the team in assist and was tied for first in points as he put up 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 points in 37 games. He would also wear a letter in his last season at RIT.
