ECHL: Tahoe Knight Monsters Announce Affiliation with Vegas Golden Knights

The Tahoe Knight Monsters officially have their NHL affiliate in the Vegas Golden Knights as the two sides have signed a mutli-year affiliation agreement. The news comes after the Savannah Ghost Pirates served as the team’s ECHL Affiliate for the past two seasons before joining the Florida Panthers earlier this Summer. There’s no surprise here as it became pretty apparent once Tahoe announced its name and mascot that it was going to Vegas; all people were waiting on was the official announcement. This move will also make travel a lot easier as players go up and down, as last year, players going between Savannah and Henderson had to basically go across the country when being called up or down.

Despite not having any players signed yet, the Knight Monsters have Hired Alex Loh as the team’s head coach. This is a smart move by Tahoe, as Loh had spent the last two seasons with the Ghost Pirates and ended up taking over as head coach after Rick Bennett was fired. There’s no question that Tahoe will get some help from Vegas, as a few of the Henderson contracted players will likely see time in Tahoe. Loh and company have a lot of work to do before the Knight Monsters open up their season in October. The Allen Americans are now the only team without an NHL affiliate for the 2024-25 season, but they are expected to announce that next Tuesday

Edmonton Oilers Playoff Thoughts: Round 2, Game 2

It takes four wins to advance, but the Edmonton Oilers historically lose almost every Game 1. In their last 15 rounds, including Tuesday night, they’ve won only four series openers. Even in 2006, they only won one Game 1. If you include that Playoff run, just for laughs, the record is 5 Game 1 wins […]
