ECHL: Tahoe Knight Monsters Re-Sign Nate Kallen

Andrew Fielder/InsideTheRink

The Tahoe Knight Monsters have announced that they’ve re-signed defenseman Nate Kallen for the 2025-26 season. Kallen, 27, is coming off a career year where he put up seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points while playing in all 72 games. He was the only Knight Monster to play in all 72 games last season. Kallen would add five assists in eight games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Knight Monsters are quickly taking care of their blue line as Kallen is the fifth defenseman signed for the 2025-26 season. I expect Kallen to once again be a big part of the Knight Monsters defensive core.

Prior to joining Tahoe, Nate Kallen played a little over a year overseas in Slovakia and the UK. He would put up three assists in 10 games with HC Slovan Bratislava at the end of the 2022-23 season. The following season, Kallen would join the Glasglow Clan. In 39 games with the Clan, he put up five goals and 18 assists for 23 points. He would add a goal and three assists for four points in nine games during the EIHL Cup.

The San Diego, California, native will be entering his fifth season in the ECHL as he’s spent time with the Maine Mariners, Rapid City Rush and Tahoe Knight Monsters. He’s put up 18 goals and 50 assists for 68 points in 159 games. He’s added five assist in 14 career Kelly Cup Playoff games. Kallen also saw three games of AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds during the 2021-22 season where he would also pick up his first career AHL goal.
