The Tahoe Knight Monsters have announced that they have signed defenseman Jeff Solow for the 2024-25 season. The 28-year-old defenseman will be entering his fourth year in the ECHL as he’s put up one goal and 14 assists for 15 points in 77 games as he’s spent time with the Iowa Heartlanders, Worcester Railers, Jacksonville Icemen, and Maine Mariners. Tahoe’s latest signing brings the team to eight players signed for next season, consisting of four forwards and four defensemen.

Solow has spent the summer playing in Australia, where he’s put up five goals and 24 assists for 29 points in 23 games with the Melbourne Ice of the AIHL. He also played overseas during the 2022-23 season, where he put up two assists in 18 games with the Glasgow Clan of the EIHL and 17 games in the NZIHL with the Skycity Stampede, where he put up 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 17 games. He would be named best defenseman in NZIHL as he led all defensemen in points. Skycity would also win the Championship in 2023.

Prior to going pro, the native of Naples, Florida, played three seasons at the NCAA level as he played for Merrimack College and SUNY-Oswego, putting up one goal and three assists for four points. Jeff’s younger brother Zach Solow spent three seasons in the ECHL, including winning a Kelly Cup Championship in 2022 with the Newfoundland Growlers. He spent last season in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, putting up 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 66 games.
