The Jacksonville Icemen have strengthened their blue line by signing 21-year-old defenseman Taos Jordan for the 2025-26 season. The move gives Jacksonville another young piece with upside as they prepare for a competitive year in the South Division.
From Junior Rinks to Pro Ice
Jordan developed his game in both the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He spent three full seasons with the Owen Sound Attack, where he grew from a depth defender into a steady puck mover. In 2023-24, he delivered his most consistent stretch in Owen Sound, finishing with 25 points in 68 games before adding a playoff assist.
The following year, Jordan made a seamless transition to the Gatineau Olympiques. He elevated his offensive game, producing nine goals and 25 assists for 34 points in 57 games. He also chipped in a playoff goal, proving he could handle big-moment pressure.
What He Brings to Jacksonville
At 6’0” and 192 pounds, the left-shot defender combines mobility with a sturdy frame. Coaches often praised his ability to retrieve pucks quickly and jumpstart the breakout, while still staying responsible in his own zone. His willingness to use his body and his improving vision on the power play give him multiple ways to impact a game.
