Forward Timur Imbragimov is returning home to Russia to play in the VHL with SKA-Neva St. Petersburg after spending a year in Finland and three seasons in North America. Ibragimov played 35 games with SKA-Neva St. Petersburg during the 2019-20 season, scoring five goals and adding eight assists for 13 points. He would put up eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 51 games with TPS and would win a Liiga Silver medal in his only year in Finland. The former sixth-round pick of the San Jose Sharks was part of the deal that brought Timo Meier to the New Jersey Devils.
Over the course of his three years, Ibragimov split his time between the AHL and ECHL. In 73 games at the ECHL level, he would put up ten goals and 11 assists for 21 points while spending time with the San Jose Barracuda and Utica Comets. At the ECHL level, he would put up 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points in 70 games with the Orlando Solar Bears, Wichita Thunder, and Adirondack Thunder. The 23-year-old forward had a solid season last year during his time in Adirondack, where he put up four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 14 games while adding six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 35 games with the Comets. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the Comets decided not to re-sign Imbragimov for the 2024-25 season after signing him to a one-year deal last Summer.
