Toledo Walleye forward Brandon Hawkins has won Player of the Week honors after posting four goals and one assist for five points in two games during the week of February 5-10, 2024.

Hawkins leads the Walleye in points with 62 points in 29 goals and 33 assists, as he remains the league’s top scorer, four points over Patrick Curry of the Kansas City Mavericks. This is Hawkins’ third season in Toledo after playing the previous two years with the Fort Wayne Komets and Wheeling Nailers, totaling 279 points combined. He has also made stops in the American Hockey League with the Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Penguins, Rochester Americans, Cleveland Monsters, and Chicago Wolves.

Hawkins also was captain of the all-star game this season as he accounted for four points on a hat trick and one assist. He has not slowed down in point production for the Walleye, continuing to be the main source of offense on a top-tier team in the league. He is not new to the area, as he played for the Bowling Green State University Falcons of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 2014/15-2015/16. Bowling Green is approximately 20 minutes from Toledo.

Hawkins will be looked on to be the force he has been this season as the Walleye are fighting for the top spot in the Western Conference. Toledo is 10 points behind the aforementioned Mavericks but remains in first place of the Central Division with a five-point lead over the Indy Fuel. Hawkins is one of the more constant scoring threats that Toledo has had in their history.
