The Toledo Walleye have made another key move this week, following a round of qualifying offers and the recent re-signing of forward Sam Craggs. Conlan Keenan is officially returning to the Walleye for his fifth season with the team.
A Familiar Face with a Rochester Connection
A native of Rochester, New York, Keenan has become a familiar face in Toledo’s lineup. Last season, he appeared in 47 regular-season games, tallying 16 points (3G, 13A), along with 14 penalty minutes and a -6 rating. He remained healthy through the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs, contributing two points (1G, 1A), six penalty minutes, and a +1 rating in 20 postseason appearances.
Veteran Status and Franchise Legacy
Now 30 years old, Keenan will enter the upcoming season with ECHL veteran status, having surpassed 260 professional games. His name is etched in several Walleye franchise all-time leaderboards, including:
- Games Played – 4th (246)
- Goals – Tied 8th (59)
- Shorthanded Assists – 1st (franchise record)
- Shorthand Goals 1st for 24-25 season
Keenan has spent the bulk of his pro career in Toledo, where he’s recorded 119 points (59G, 60A) across 246 games. Including his time with the Tulsa Oilers, he’s played 274 total professional games, posting 128 points (65G, 63A).
Before turning pro, Keenan starred at SUNY-Geneseo, where he notched an impressive 172 points (86G, 86A) in just 110 collegiate games over four seasons.

Affectionately known as “Keens” by fans and teammates, his return strengthens the core of the Walleye roster. With Keenan, Brandon Hawkins, and Sam Craggs all back in the mix, anticipation is growing for what the 2025-26 season might bring.
