GREENVILLE, S.C. — As March approaches, teams are finalizing their rosters through trades, acquisitions, and player suspensions for overseas play. Many well-known ECHL players have been traded or suspended to play overseas.

This evening, Feb. 26, it was announced via Twitter that the Greenville Swamp Rabbits traded forward Mikael Robidoux to the Bloomington Bison in exchange for P.J. Fletcher.

Robidoux, 25, is in his fifth season in the Premier Double-A Hockey League; this is his first with Greenville and now Bloomington.

The 5-foot-11 right winger from La Prairie, Québec, skated in 46 games for the Swamp Rabbits, recording only three goals and two assists. Robidoux’s primary role on the team was as an enforcer, acting as a pest to opposing teams, but he also acted as a leader despite not holding an alternate captaincy title.

From his five-season tenure, he accumulated 19 goals and 20 assists in 182 contests in the ECHL. His career-best season was during the 2022-23 run, when he posted 16 points from nine goals and seven assists with the Allen Americans.

About Fletcher

Fletcher, 23, is in his second season in the ECHL, with Greenville being his third team so far. The right-wing/centre native to Dana Point, California, was first exposed to the Show during last season with the reigning Kelly Cup Champions, the Florida Everblades, where he appeared in three games.

For this season, the 6-foot-2 forward skated in 22 games for Bloomington, tallying one goal and three assists. He also appeared in 18 games for Atlanta, tallying the same points.

Before turning professional, Fletcher finished his third NCAA season with Miami University, where he notched 23 points.
