ECHL Transactions: Florida Everblades

Florida Everblades’ defenseman, Cole Moberg, has decided to follow Patrick Holway to Slovakia when he signed a contract with HKM Zvolen to play the 2024-25 season in the Slovak Extraliga. Holway left the Everblades in the second half of the season to play with HC Slovan Bratislava before signing with Villacher SV in Austria for 2024-25.

Moberg was a key member of the Everblades’ third consecutive Kelly Cup Championship. He won his second championship with the Everblades and his second in his professional career. Moberg led all defensemen in goals and points in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with six and 14. Moberg was a consistent presence on the blue line this season, playing in 60 games scoring 14 points and 42 penalties. He was placed on the Everblades’ protected list last week and they will retain his rights should he return to North America. His absence will leave a huge hole on the top defensive pair and coach Brad Ralph will need to find a replacement quickly in which to build his defense around.

I write for and photograph the Florida Everblades for ITR. I am a retiree that has turned my hobby of photography into a business. I currently live in Sarasota, Florida with my wife, Christy, but I'm originally from California. My previous career has taken me all over the US and the world and I definitely enjoy traveling. I've played hockey for over 30 years, learning as an adult, and love the game.
