27-year-old Zach Tsekos was placed back on injured reserve effective January 28th. He first entered injured reserve on January 1st. He was activated off injured reserve and was in the lineup for the two-game series against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last Friday and Saturday. He has scored five goals and six assists through 24 games. He scored 13 goals and 12 assists through 30 games with the Everblades last year and was on track to have 12 goals and 15 assists in 58 games this season, but his injury troubles will put those numbers in danger. The Everblades’ scoring has been down as a team this year, and players like Tsekos are essential for offensive production.
26-year-old Mark Senden was assigned to the Everblades by the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. He has had a see-saw season, bouncing between the Everblades and the Checkers all year. His last game played with the Everblades was against the Icemen on December 20th. He has yet to crack the scoresheet in eleven games with the Checkers, but he has been more successful with the Everblades, recording five goals and six assists in 17 games. His addition to the team is timely with the loss of Tsekos.
The Everblades’ next game is Wednesday night against the Icemen in Jacksonville, and Senden should be in the lineup.
