In a trade involving the Florida Everblades and Idaho Steelheads, the Everblades received goalie David Tendeck in exchange for cash considerations. The trade was completed late Tuesday night, February 6th. David Tendeck was dressed and serving in a backup role for Cam Johnson during the Everblades’ game against the Adirondack Thunder Wednesday night in Estero, Fla. This trade became a necessity when the Charlotte Checkers recalled Evan Cormier.
24-year-old Vancouver, BC native David Tendeck is in his fourth year as a professional. He started his professional career with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL in 2021. He played in 27 games in his first season, going 11-14-0 with a .909 save percentage for the Rush. The Everblades are the fifth team he’s played for in the ECHL. Tendeck has enormous shoes to fill with Evan Cormier’s call-up. Cormier, part of the solid goalie duo with Cam Johnson, was having his best season in the ECHL with an 8-5-3 record and a .910 save percentage. Tendeck arrived three hours before puck drop Wednesday night. Wearing number one, he watched his new team defeat the North Division-leading Thunder 6-3. Coach Ralph stated that Tendeck could get the start against the Thunder in game three on Saturday night.
