Goaltender Evan Cormier was reassigned to the Florida Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers on Monday.
The 26-year-old Bowmanville, ON native, was assigned to the Checkers on February 7. He played five games, posting a 2-1-2 record and a 0.883 save percentage. Before this most recent call-up, Cormier was part of an excellent goaltending duo with Cam Johnson in Florida. He played in 18 games and had an 8-5-3 record with a 0.910 save percentage. The Everblades currently have three goaltenders on their roster: Cormier, Johnson, and David Tendeck, who the team signed after Cormier’s call-up in early February. All three goaltenders are posting over a 0.910 save percentage. Cam Johnson has been the workhorse for the Everblades, playing in 37 games. Tendeck, however, has had the hot hand since joining the team. He has posted three wins in three appearances with a 0.972 save percentage.
The Everblades travel to Orlando on Tuesday to battle the Solar Bears. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at Kia Center.
