ECHL Transactions: Savannah Ghost Pirates 3/19/24

Savannah welcomes the first transactions this week, with the trade deadline just days away. Saying goodbye and good luck to one, loaning another, signing an NCAA Defenseman, and reinstating another.

The Ghost Pirates says thank you and good luck to Veteran Forward Sebastian Vidmar, as they trade him to The Maine Mariners for future considerations. Vidmar, 30, grew up in Sweden and has played for the Ghost Pirates for 50 games, with eight goals, 15 assists, and 24 points this season. Savannah acquired Vidmar in a trade with Adirondack Thunder in the 22-23 season, Vidmar has played three seasons in the ECHL and one in the AHL.

Defenseman Joe Fleming was recalled to the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights. This is the second time Fleming will fill the roster in Henderson this season. Fleming, 20, signed an NHL contract with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2022 and was assigned to the Savannah Ghost Pirates in 2023. Fleming has 56 games, three goals, 15 assists, 84 penalty minutes, and 18 points so far this season in the ECHL. Fleming has developed well with the Ghost Pirates and Henderson Silver Knights and hopes to start his first AHL game this season.

With the two departures, Savannah signed T.J. Lloyd, a 24-year-old right-handed Defenseman who most recently played with the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the NCAA bracket to an ATO contract. Lloyd played 142 collegiate games, scoring ten goals, 63 assists, and accumulating 101 penalty minutes.

Defenseman Peter Tischke was also activated from reserves. His last game was played on March 14th against the Atlanta Gladiators. Tischke has played 28 games with two goals, four assists, eight penalty minutes, and six points this season.
