ECHL Transactions: Tusa Oilers 03/06/2024

On Wednesday, the Tulsa Oilers were involved in two player moves. Forward Eddie Matsushima was recalled by the San Diego Gulls in the AHL, and defenseman Liam Markhauser signed a player contract out of college.

30-year-old Verona, Wisc. native Matsushima received his first call-up to the AHL and the San Diego Gulls on Wednesday. He started his professional career with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL in the 2018-19 season. Matsushima played 33 games for the Ice Flyers before moving up to the Orlando Solar Bears in 2019-20. He signed with the Tulsa Oilers in 2021 and has been a foundational player. Matsushima is having his best season this year, with 22 goals and 45 points in 39 games. His 45 points are good enough for first in the scoring on the team.
