ECHL Transactions: Worcester Railers Sign Two NCAA Forwards

A welcomed couple of additions to the Worcester Railers arrived earlier today, forward Austin Heidemann and forward Michael Gildon. The Railers are making a strong push towards the playoffs, and adding Heidmann is another move in the right direction.

Austin Heidmann has shown he has the ability to help the team. Heidemann played his first couple of NCAA seasons with Mercyhurst University then transferring to Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. Over those four seasons he played 125 games. He scored 86 total points with 40 goals and 46 assists. (40-46-86) Heidemann is clearly capable of scoring as well as feeding the rest of his Railers teammates.

Michael Gildon comes to the team from Ohio State University, where he spent five seasons. In 118 games for Ohio State, he accumulated 38 points for 12 goals and 26 assists. (12-26-38) In 2019 Gildon got the honor of representing the USA in Sweden when his team earned bronze in the International Ice Hockey Federation U18 Championship. Gildon has the experience and is definitely more of an assist man where he can help the already well-established Railers.
