ECHL: Trois-Rivières Lions Add A Goaltender

Rob Chruch/Utah Grizzlies

The Trois-Riviéres Lions have added a goaltender as they’ve signed Vincent Duplessis for the 2025-26 season. In his first full season in the ECHL, Duplessis had a 4-12-3 record with a 4.47 GAA and .862 SV% in 20 games with the Utah Grizzlies. Duplessis made his ECHL debut at the end of the 2023-24 season, where he went 0-1-1 with a 3.07 GAA and .905SV%. Vincent Duplessis will likely be the third goaltender heading into next season behind Hunter Jones and Ben Gaudreau. Both Jones and Gaudreau signed AHL contracts with the Laval Rocket. There’s no question that Duplessis should have a much better year playing in front of a better defense than he has in his first two years in the league.

Prior to going pro, the Quebec native spent one season in the AJHL with the Whitecourt Wolverines, putting up a record of 21-10-6 with a 2.72 GAA, .912SV%, and two shutouts in 40 games. He went 4-2 with a 1.99 GAA and .932SV% in six playoff games. Duplessis would then take the NCAA route, where he played three seasons at Boston University before spending his final year of eligibility at Quinnipiac University. In his three years with the Terriers, he would play in 25 games while putting up a 15-6 record with a 2.15 GAA, .915SV%, and four shutouts. The Terriers would end up winning Hockey East in 2023, which was his final year at BU. In his final year of eligibility with the Bobcats, he went 21-7-2 with a 2.02 GAA, .914SV%, and three shutouts. The Bobcats would win the ECAC Championship in 2024.
