ECHL: Trois-Rivieres Lions Announce 2024 Training Camp Roster

The Trois-Rivieres Lions have announced their initial 28-man training camp roster, which consists of 17 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders. Trois-Rivieres will open up the season at home on October 18th vs Reading Royals. They would also claim defensemen Wyatt McLeod from the Bloomington Bison. McLeod’s only prior ECHL experience came during the 2020-21 season, where he put up two goals and two assists for four points in 15 games. He has spent the last three seasons at the University of Alberta, where he put four up goals and 31 assists for 35 points in 58 games.

Invites To Camp

Colin Ratt- The 20-year-old winger comes to camp after spending three years in the QMJHL with the Sherbrook Phoenix and Gatineau Olympiques, where he put up 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points in 128 games. Ratt spent most of last season in the QHL with the Gatineau Flames, where he put eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 12 games. He would also play in two games with the Powell River Kings of the BCHL.

Davide Gaeta—The 22-year-old joins the Lions after completing his first season in North America, during which he scored 24 goals and added 22 assists for 46 assists in 48 games at the SPHL level. Gaeta had spent parts of two seasons playing in the Swiss League, putting up five goals and one assist for six points in 57 games.

Daryk Plouffe-Dube—The 22-year-old forward received a Try-Out invite to his hometown team after making his professional debut with the Lions last November, where he played in two games. After leaving the Lions, Dube would play in seven games in the LHSAAAQ, where he put up three goals and four assists for seven points, before finishing his season in the SPHL with the Knoxville Ice Bears, where he put up one goal and four assists for five points in 16 games.

Metis Roelens—The 24-year-old center is coming out of retirement to join the Lions on a try-out agreement. Rolens last played during the 2021-22 season, when he played in two games with the Maine Mariners, where he scored one goal and four assists for five points. Prior to going pro, the Belarus native spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques, where he scored 52 goals and 84 assists in 136 games.

Adam Pilotte- The 27-year-old defenseman joins the Lions after playing five years at McGill University, where he put up eight assists in 54 games. Pillote would make the jump to the SPHL at the end of last season, where he put up two goals and an assist for three points in six games, including picking up a goal in his first game with the Evansville Thunderbirds.

Mathieu Boislard- If the Lions are looking to add some physicality to their lineup, Boislard will be that guy. The 22-year-old has spent three seasons at the FPHL level with the Binghampton Black Bears, where he put up seven goals and 31 assists for 38 points, along with 311 minutes in penalties. Boislard would make the jump to the SPHL level last season, spending time with the Fayetteville Marksmen and Knoxville Ice Bears, putting up a goal and two assists for three points, along with 95 PIMs in 30 games.

Nick Aromatar- The 25-year-old defenseman joins the Lions after spending the last four seasons at the NCAA level at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Points, where he put up eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points in 87 career games. Aromatar would finish his year in the SPHL with the Peoria Rivermen where he put up a goal in four games.
