The Trois-Rivieres Lions have given an update on defensemen Kirby Proctor and Vincent Sevingy prior to tonight’s game vs Reading Royals.
Defenseman Kirby Proctor, who at the beginning of the month was expected to be out until November, is now week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Proctor, 23, was expected to be an important piece of the young defensive core for the Lions before suffering his injury. The Lloydminster, Alberta native played in three games with the Lions at the end of the regular season and then would play in all six Kelly Cup Playoff Games last year with Trois-Rivieres. Before joining the Lions, Proctor played five years at the NCAA level with the University of Nebrask-Omaha, putting up 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points in 172 games.
Vincent Sevigny, 23, is day-to-day with an upper-body injury after missing Saturday Night’s game vs Adirondack Thunder. He had played in each of the first two games for the Lions this season but is still looking for his first career ECHL point. The Quebec native, currently on an AHL deal with the Laval Rocket, is entering his third professional season after spending the first two seasons in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders, where he put up six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 86 games. Prior to going pro, Sevigny spent four years in the QMJHL with the Victoriaville Tigres and Saint John’s Sea Dogs, where he put up 36 goals and 85 assists for 121 points in 215 games while captaining the Sea Dogs to a Memorial Cup Championship in 2022.
