ECHL: Trois-Rivieres Lions Mason Kohn Suspended

Rich LeBlanc/InsideTheRink

The ECHL has announced that Trois-Rivieres Lions forward Mason Kohn has been suspended two games for an unpenalized hit at the 13:41 mark of the third period during the Lions game at Worcester Railers on March 3rd. Kohn delivered a hit to the head of Worcester’s Jack Quinlivan but was not penalized for the hit. The 26-year-old forward made his ECHL debut for the Lions, playing in both games this weekend, and picked up his first ECHL point with an assist in Sunday’s 5-2 win.

Kohn is not a player who is known to play an overly physical game or throw dirty hits, as he picked up only 72 minutes of penalties over the course of his last three seasons. The Florida native, who recently signed with the Lions, will miss Wednesday’s game vs Adirondack Thunder and Friday’s game vs Worcester Railers. He is eligible to return to the Lions lineup on Saturday vs Worcester.
