The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced that they re-signed forward Charles Antoine-Paiement for the 2024-25 season. The 25-year-old winger joined the Lions in January after he spent three years at Concordia University, where he would put up 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points in 47 games. He would add seven playoff games, with the Stingers putting up just one goal. In his 30 games with the Lions, he would put up four goals and four points for eight points, his only Kelly Cup Playoff appearance would come is Game 6 of the opening round vs Norfolk Admirals but he would fail to find the scoresheet.
Heading into next season, expect Antoine-Paiement to see some more time in the Lions lineup after Trois-Rivières has lost a few forwards already who have decided to take the overseas route. Antoine-Paiement has also spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with a youth team in Ste-Therese, Quebec. Before joining Concordia, he spent two years in the QJHL, where he spent two seasons with the St.Jerome Panthers, putting up 48 goals and 55 assists for 103 points in 84 games.
So far, this off-season, the Lions have been one of the busier teams as they now have four signings, which is the second most behind the Fort Wayne Komets, who have made seven signings in the first week of the off-season. Expect more teams to get in the signings over the next few weeks now that the front offices are getting back from the ECHL Summer Meetings.
