
The Trois-Riviéres Lions have announced that they’ve re-signed defenseman Wyatt McLeod for the 2025-26 season. McLeod, 25, had a goal and 22 assists for 23 points in 65 games during the regular season. In 21 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, McLeod recorded a goal and eight assists for nine points, finishing with an ECHL-best +21 during the playoffs. With the signing of McLeod, the Lions have four defenseman signed for the 2025-26 season, along with the rights to Landon Fuller, whom they acquired last week from the Wichita Thunder. He is the second defenseman to return to the Lions roster for the 2025-26 season.
The Dawson Creek, British Columbia, native began his career in the WHL, where he spent his first four seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings, where he put up nine goals and 45 assists for 54 points in 204 games. He would end his WHL career with the Saskatoon Blades, where he had three goals and 12 assists for 15 points in 24 games. McLeod would then make his ECHL debut that same season, putting up two goals and two assists for four points in 15 games with the Utah Grizzlies.

McLeod would then head to school, where he spent three seasons in USports with the University of Alberta. In 58 games with the Golden Bears, McLeod put up four goals and 31 assists for 35 points. He would add two goals and six assists for eight points in 19 USports. In 2022, the Golden Bears would go on to win the USports (West) Championship.
