ECHL: Trois-Rivières Lions Sign Julien Paillé, Announce First Ever Preseason Game

The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced they’ve signed forward Julien Paillé for the 2025-26 season. Paillé, 20, played in 54 games in the QMJHL last season with the Gatineau Olympiques and Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He would put up 21 goals and 17 assists for 38 points, and would add one assist in five games during the QMJHL playoffs. Paillé finished second on the Olympiques in goals last season (18) despite playing in just 48 games with the team. The Sherbrooke, Quebec, native is the first signing for the Lions this Summer who doesn’t have any prior ECHL experience.

Julien Paille Junior and College Career

Prior to signing with the Lions, Julien Paillé had spent parts of three seasons in the QMJHL with the Olympiques and Drakkar. He would put up 49 goals and 45 assists for 94 points in 132 games. The rookie forward would add four assists in 15 career QMJHL playoff games. Paile would also spend the 2022-23 season in the QCHL with the Collège Champlain Cougars. He would put up 18 goals and seven assists for 25 points in 25 games. The rookie forward also played in three playoff games, but couldn’t find the scoresheet.

Lions To Play First-Ever Preseason Game

Earlier today, the Lions announced that they will be playing a preseason game for the first time in franchise history. The Lions will head down to Adirondack on October 11th, before opening up the season at home vs the Reading Royals on October 17th. Adirondack will host the Lions for their preseason game at home and their regular-season home-opener.
