The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced that they’ve signed defenseman Karl Boudrias for the 2025-26 season. The Chateauguay, Quebec native, 29, spent the 2024-25 season playing overseas in Slovakia and England, where he put up five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 45 games. Boudrias won an EIHL Cup during his time overseas with the Belfast Giants. He is the third defenseman to sign with the Lions for next season, joining Jacob Paquette and Emmett Serensits.
Prior to heading overseas, Karl Boudrias spent three years in the ECHL. In his rookie season, he put up four goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 44 games with the South Carolina Stingrays and Worcester Railers. Boudrias would spend the next two seasons with the Tulsa Oilers, where he put up 12 goals and 46 assists for 58 points in 133 games. He played in four games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs with the Oilers.
“After my experience in Europe, I felt I still had a lot to offer in North America. Coming home to play for the Lions is a great opportunity to be closer to my family and friends, and to help build something strong in Trois-Rivières.”
