The Trois-Rivières Lions have added another new face with the addition of forward Logan Nijhoff. The 23-year-old winger joins the Lions after playing 34 games last year with the Rockford Ice Hogs, where he put up four goals. Nijhoff will be entering his third full professional season as he played in 50 career AHL games, spending time with the San Diego Gulls and the Ice Hogs, with all four of his points coming with Rockford last season. The Comox, British Columbia native has also played in 43 ECHL games, putting up eight goals and eight assists for 16 points as he’s spent time with the Tulsa Oilers and Indy Fuel. Nijhoff played in one game with the Fuel during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Prior to going pro, Nijhoff spent five years in the WHL with the Regina Pats, including spending his last two seasons with the Pats as their captain. In 231 games, he put up 61 goals and 62 assists for 123 points; he would finish third in goals and assists during the 2021-22 season. Heading into next season, expect Nijhoff to be a guy who will be bouncing between Trois-Rivieres and Laval as well as easily being a middle six piece for the Lions and can play either up the middle or on the wing and plays a full 200ft game which will be a huge plus for the Lions. Nijhoff is the 16th signing for the Lions and the 10th forward signed for the 2024-25 season.
