The Trois-Rivieres Lions continued to tinker with their roster on Wednesday as they announced the signing of forward Emmett Serensits. Trois-Rivieres would put defenseman Mathieu Boislard on waivers to make room for the newest member of the Lions.
Serensits Signs First Pro Contract
Serensits, 25, joins the Lions after spending the last four seasons at the University of Toronto, where he put up nine goals and 36 assists for 45 points in 97 games. Prior to heading to USports, the Oakville, Ontario native would spend his junior career in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves. In four years with the Wolves, he would put up six goals and 43 assists for 49 points in 187 games. Serensits was placed on reserve by the Lions once he signed, but with Trois-Rivieres having a three-in-three with travel this weekend, I would expect him to make his pro debut at some point during the weekend.
Boislard Placed On Waivers

Boislard, 23, signed his first pro contract with the Lions in October and played in 27 games, contributing an assist and 63 penalty minutes; his 63 PIMs were second on the team behind Morgan Adams-Moisan (69). The Fleurimont, Quebec native had no problem dropping his gloves and throwing the body as he had five fights with the Lions. Prior to playing in the ECHL, Boislard played 104 games in the FPHL with the Binghampton Black Bears, putting up seven goals and 31 assists for 38 points, along with 311 PIMS. He would win a Commissoner’s Cup with the Black Bears in 2024. He would also see time in the SPHL, where he played in 31 games where he put up a goal and two assists for three points.
