The Tulsa Oilers have announced that they have re-signed forward Keegan Iverson for the 2025-26 season.
Junior and Collegiate Career
Keegan Iverson spent his junior career playing in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks where he was an alternate captain in the 2015-16 season and captained the team in the 2016-17 season. In his 293 games played in the WHL, Iverson had 80 goals and 110 assists for 190 points. He had nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points in 71 playoff games.
Iverson then signed a professional contract for the 2017-18 season splitting his time between the Ontario Reign in the AHL and the Manchester Monarchs in the ECHL. He then started his collegiate career playing with the Lacombe Generals in the ACHW where he played in two games and registered one goal and one assist with two penalty minutes.
He then went to play in USports, spending three seasons with Mount Royal University but only played in two after the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 30 games at Mount Royal University, Iverson registered seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points.
Professional Career
After Iverson completed his collegiate career in the 2021-22 season, he signed in the ECHL. Iverson has spent time with the Indy Fuel, Rapid City Rush, Norfolk Admirals and Tulsa Oilers. In 232 games played, Iverson has 20 goals and 41 assists. Iverson started the 2024-25 season with the Admirals but later joined the Oilers where he played in eight games. He registered two goals and two assists with 16 penalty minutes and a +1.
Iverson is a very gritty and physical player who is willing to do just about anything for his team. Iverson is not afraid to lay a hit or drop his gloves to help his team gain some momentum. While Iverson is a forward, he is also able to play in a defensive position when needed. In his short time with Tulsa last season, he was able to start to find his offensive game and could find more offensive success in the 2025-26 season.
