The Kalamazoo Wings already have their work cut out for them this off-season as they will be heading into the 2024-25 season without their top three point producers from last season as forwards David Keefer and Josh Passolt are both headed to Austria to play for Pioneers Vorarlberg in the ICEHL, and Erik Braddford who took the overseas route earlier this off-season.
Keefer played in 69 games with the Wings this season, scoring 17 goals and 31 assists for 48 points during the regular season and adding an assist in four Kelly Cup Playoff games. He also spent nine games with Kalamazoo last year, scoring four goals and five assists for nine points in nine games. Prior to joining the K-Wings, the Michigan native spent five years at the NCAA level playing for Michigan State University and Nothern Michigan University, where he would play in a total of 150 games, putting up 31 goals and 38 assists for 69 points.
Passolt, a Wisconsin native, has spent parts of the last three seasons in the ECHL playing for the Cincinnati Cyclones and Kalamazoo Wings. In 136 career ECHL games he’s put up 51 goals and 47 assists for 98 points, he’s added one goal and two assists for three points in 13 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games. The 27-year winger finished the year with 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 61 games this season, that would be good enough for second on the team behind Bradford. Passolt has also played in eight career AHL games spending time with the Rochester Americans and Abbotsford Canucks putting up two goals and an assist for three points.
