
Indy Fuel defenseman Ty Farmer is heading overseas to Denmark to join the Aalborg Pirates after spending the last three seasons in the ECHL. The O’Fallon, Missouri, native played in all 72 games last season for the Fuel, putting up seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points. He was the only member of the Fuel to play in all 72 games last season. Farmer is the fifth player and second this week to head overseas after Kyle Maksimovich headed to Denmark yesterday. Prior to joining the Fuel, Farmer spent his first two seasons with the Allen Americans where he put up five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 58 games. He would also have two assists in 11 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Prior to going pro, Ty Farmer would play three seasons in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms, Muskegon Lumberjacks, and Fargo Force. He would put up 14 goals and 49 assists for 63 points in 169 games. In 2018, he would win a Clark Cup Championship with the Force. He would put up four goals and five assists for nine points in 18 USHL Playoff games. Farmer would then take the NCAA route, spending four seasons at UMass, where he put up 11 goals and 33 assists for 44 points in 134 games. The Mintuemen won the National Championship in 2021 and the Hockey East Championship in 2021 and 2022. Farmer would spent his final year of eligibility at the University of North Dakota where he had one goal and 10 assists for 11 points in 37 games.
