The Utah Grizzlies have announced that they have signed 5’10” forward Ty Voit for the 2025-26 season.

Junior Career

Ty Voit launched his junior career in 2019-20 with the OHL’s Sarnia Sting. He then went on to spend four seasons with the Sting, though he took the ice for only three after the 2020-21 season was canceled due to COVID. During his time in Sarnia, Voit proved to be a consistent offensive presence, piling up 58 goals and 155 assists for 213 points in 183 regular-season games, along with 38 penalty minutes and a -2 rating. He carried that production into the postseason, adding five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 22 playoff games, with four penalty minutes and a -6.

Voit hit his stride in 2022-23, leading the OHL in assists with 81 in 67 games and earning a spot on the OHL Second All-Star Team. That same season, he racked up 24 goals and 81 assists for 105 points, cementing himself as one of the league’s top playmakers.

Professional Career

After completing his junior career, Voit signed his three-year entry-level deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but started his career in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. In the 2023-24 season, he played in one game with the Marlies and played in five games in the ECHL with the Newfoundland Growlers. He had two goals and six assists for eight points with a +2 in his five games with the Growlers.

Voit signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the 2024-25 season where he played in 63 games. He had eight goals and 29 assists for 37 points with six penalty minutes and a -8 with the Cyclones.

Voit is a forward known for his strong skating skills. He drives to the front of the net, putting himself in position to capitalize on rebounds and deflections. As he gains more experience in the ECHL, his offensive game should continue to grow, giving him even more opportunities to make an impact on the scoresheet.
