The Jacksonville Icemen continue to shape their 2025–26 roster with the addition of rookie forward Tyler Coffey, a left-shot winger out of Colorado College.
From the NCHC to Northeast Florida
Coffey, 25, is coming off a five-year collegiate career with Colorado College, where he tallied 37 points (27G, 10A) over 125 NCAA games. The Hamilton, New Jersey native wrapped up his senior season in 2024–25 with 6 points in 23 games, while serving as a steady depth option in the Tigers’ lineup.
Standing at 5’10” and 179 pounds, Coffey is a versatile forward who brings two-way awareness, grit, and a team-first mentality to the pro level. While at Colorado College, he played three seasons alongside former Icemen goaltender Matt Vernon.
Junior Roots in the USHL
Before college, Coffey spent time in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Sioux Falls Stampede and Tri-City Storm. During the 2019–20 season, he posted 12 points (6G, 6A) in 18 games with Sioux Falls, showing early signs of his scoring potential and competitive edge.
Ready to Earn His Shot
Coffey will be looking to carve out a role in Jacksonville’s forward group as he begins his professional career. His experience at the NCAA level, combined with his hockey IQ and work ethic, makes him a solid depth addition.
