The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Tyler Hylland for the 2025-26 season. Hylland, 27, finished his first full season with the Lions, where he played in all 72 games while putting up 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points. During the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs, he would put up eight goals and an assist for nine points in 19 games. Hylland played in 11 games with Trois-Rivières at the end of the 2023-24 season, where he had two goals and four assists for six points in 11 games. Those numbers would be good enough for him to make the Lions’ 2024 Kelly Cup Playoff roster, where he had one goal in six games. He was the only player on the Lions to play in all 72 games during the 2024-25 regular season. He is the eighth forward and 13th player signed to a deal next season.
Prior to going pro, the Châteauguay, Quebec native spent time in the QMJHL and in USports. In his five years in the QMJHL with the Blainville-Boisbrand and Cape Brenton Screaming Eagles, Hylland would put up 60 goals and 68 assists for 128 points in 299 games. In 36 QMJHL playoff games, he would put up three goals and three assists for six points. He would then spend four years at Concordia University, where he put up 35 goals and 47 assists for 82 points in 89 games. Holland would add 10 goals and five assists for 15 points in 18 USports Playoff games. In 2020, he was named to the OUA East All-Rookie Team and Second All-Star Team.
