ECHL: Weekend Preview | 10/25/2024

Inside the Rink is continuing its coverage of the ECHL for the 2024-25 Season. Each week we will highlight three matchups as our must-see games across the league. Here are our picks for this week.

Atlanta Gladiators versus Florida Everblades  – ECHL/FloHockey Game of the Week (Friday)

The Atlanta Gladiators are set to match up against the Florida Everblades on Friday 10/25/2024 at 7:30 pm

Atlanta Gladiators: Last week the Gladiators faced off against the Indy Fuel. Both games were swept by the glads in shutouts for Goaltenders Drew DeRidder and Ethan Haider. Currently, Atlanta is third in the Eastern Conference and first in the South Division.

Florida Everblades:

Coming off back…to back…to back championships the Florida Everblades faced off against the Jacksonville Icemen last week. It was an overtime thriller and ended with a score of 3-2. Florida outshot the Icemen 24-16. Cam Johnson made 14 saves and rightfully earned the win for the Everblades.

Tahoe Knight Monsters versus Jacksonville Icemen – (Thursday)

Tahoe Knight Monsters:

The New Kids on the Block open up their season against the Jacksonville Icemen on the new ice at Tahoe Blue Event Center at 7:00 pm PDT.

Jacksonville Icemen:

The Icemen lost in their lone game against Florida last week and earned a point in overtime. Icemen Goaltender Matt Vernon stopped 20 shots on goal.

Wheeling Nailers versus Reading Royals – (Saturday and Sunday)

Wheeling Nailers- The Nailers faced off against the Maine Mariners last week on the road and split the series with an identical score of 4-1. Nailers Goaltender Jaxon Castor made 54 saves combined on 61 shots throughout the series.

Reading Royals- Under new coaching, and a new team, the Royals started off their season being undefeated. The Royals won all three games last weekend, one against Trois-Rivieres Lions and two against the Worcester Railers. Goaltender Parker Gahagen made 41 saves in two games last weekend.
